Yielding to God

Man is evil, born of sin since Adam’s fall. It is not hard to see when we look around and the world is collapsing under its misdeeds and greed. You can see how we have drifted from the teachings of the Bible into lethargy and complacency, turning our backs on Jesus in the process. He has to rebuild us in his image. As the Potter shaped the clay pot because it did not appear in His image; He had to remake it. We are born in sin, but He makes us over when we accept Him as Savior. We must die in order to live again by being “born again.” We must be crucified to life’s desires and habits which are sinful, though they appear innocent acts to the ignorant. We must enter His sufferings to fellowship with Jesus in order to then reach the world.

Oftentimes, we want our own way, but we must remember God is the Potter and we are the clay. Only He knows what is best and how to mold and make us into His image, that we may become a vessel fit for His use. Spiritually, we shall join Him at Calvary when we die to self and enter into the world of spiritual holiness. Just as a flower seed put into the ground dies, but rises up into a beautiful flower. Let us look to the apostles, martyrs and prophets who gave their life, both spiritually and literally for the Gospel of Jesus. They died to self to be used for His glory. Paul in particular is a great example. He was a Christian killer and then became a Christian himself.

Let us repent of our old nature and return to our Heavenly Father who loves us. Go to the foot of the cross and call for revival in our hearts and in the world. We are so important to our heavenly Father. We must be polished to service once again. America is blessed because we were created in the foundations of God and His Word. So, let us not give up because we can become great in Him once more. Stand up and be counted for Christ!

Erika Kirk, our hearts go out to you, and we stand with you just as your husband stood and died for Christ Jesus.

Romans 6:13

Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Romans 6:16

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Romans 12:1

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

James 4:7

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Galatians 2:20

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I , but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.

Philippians 2:13

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.
