“Give and it shall be given unto you.”
Do not grow weary, those who give. Do not think your deeds go unnoticed. Jesus sees all we do and He will reward us openly. The word of God encourages giving and helping others without seeking recognition.
There was a time when I had no food to feed my children and someone put a bag of groceries on my back step. I was so grateful, I cried with thanksgiving. Whoever did it, I prayed for a great blessing to come to them. They will never know how grateful I was for their anonymous generosity. From His Word, I know God saw their deed and it did not go unnoticed!
I also tried as often as I could to give and help others, even when we had very little. Jesus taught that when we do things for others it is as if we had done those things for Him. I had a friend who had no fuel to heat their house. I did not say anything, but sent a fuel truck to fill their tank. She had four children and her husband was out of work. I was so glad to help, just as someone had once helped me in my time of need. Not for praise, but because of what it meant to me when someone had seen my unspoken needs and acted on it.
The world calls this time of year “the season of giving,” but don’t just be like the world, do more than the world does. If you see a need, in any season, and can help, please do; you may never know how much it means to someone for their needs to be seen. When you give, you are blessed from above and God sees your deeds; His is the only recognition we need.
Matthew 6:1-4
1-[Jesus said] Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in Heaven.
2-Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3-But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4-That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret Himself shall reward thee openly.
Matthew 25:35-36 & 40
35-[Jesus said] For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took Me in;
36-Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited Me: I was in prison, and ye came unto Me.
40-[...] Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto Me.
