Where Do You Store Your Treasures?

When you are not in Christ Jesus your treasures perish, rust and corrode. With Jesus, we store our treasure in Heaven- which will never perish, rust, or decay. To me it is not important what I own, which is not much. What is important to me is what I do for Jesus, and He knows my heart. We are to take care of the items He supplies, and remember who gave them to you and who you belong to, for as Christians our life is no longer our own. 

Being a single mom without a formal education, raising four children was not easy. He may not have supplied our every want but He did supply our every need. I was always able to pay my bills, keep a roof over our heads and food on our table, and at times, I truly don’t know how we made it-we shouldn’t have been able to, but God always provided in His way. I do know God is my supplier and in Jesus we can be complete and joyful because He is always there with us.

Matthew 6:19-21

19-[Jesus said] Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon Earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 

20-But lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 

21-For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

1 Timothy 6:17-19

17-Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 

18-That they do good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 

19-Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

Colossians 3:2

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the Earth.
