The Lifter of Our Head
Jesus is the one who lifts up our head when we are discouraged, ashamed or burdened. I have a bad habit of keeping my head down, which is a sad problem in myself. Many times God has had to tell me about this shortcoming of mine. He would encourage me and remind me to lift up my head in His victory, for He shines His face down on us in approval and love. He always helps to lift my head when I feel cast down or defeated, or when I lose sight of Him.
God wants our eyes to ever be on Him, not our worries in life. Instead, let us lift our heads in victory and joy! When we humble ourselves before Him, this becomes much easier for us. So many times Satan tries to come in with discouragement, and in our distraction we lose sight of the Master. We must keep our heads up. God is always there to give a word of encouragement and puts us on the right road of victory again when we stumble. When life weighs us down, the Lord restores our hope, dignity, and strength-lifting our heads again. Victory is ours in Jesus’ name!
Psalm 3:3
But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
Psalm 27:6
And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in His tabernacle sacrifices of joy.
Psalm 146:8
The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind: the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down: the Lord loveth the righteous.
