How great is our God? In His mercy, He saved me; I am not perfect, just forgiven. We are born in sin from the fall of Adam; the sin nature is inside all of us, but we do not continue in a sinful walk once we give our heart to Jesus. It is a daily process to become refined in the Lord.
When I was just a baby in Christ, I sinned and told my close Christian friend. I remember as I told her how my eyes were opened to the sins that I was not aware of. I repented to God in tears. I asked the Lord to examine my heart and if there was still sin in it, to help it be removed. Our heart has many rooms, and I asked Jesus to search and make mine pure. He exposed my sinful natures one at a time through the years-it was a very hard lesson to learn. I thought once you were saved, that was it; But no, He wants us to be holy as He is Holy. I needed to be refined; it was time to clean the house of my heart. Sin was a wedge between me and my Savior, so the journey began. As Jesus revealed my sin to me, I would repent right away and not give Satan an inch into my life. I did not want the old life anymore, so I gave it all to Jesus. He already defeated sin at the Cross.
The day Jesus asked if I wanted to be saved, He told me how I must leave the old life behind and walk the road He chose for me. I didn’t know what He meant, but I knew I wanted to live for Him! His death at Calvary gives us an opportunity for new life. I once walked in darkness, but now I see the light. My heart cries for all to reach out and ask Him into your heart; Repent of the old life and you will never regret it or be alone again.
Romans 5:8
But God commendeth His love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things become new.
Ephesians 2:8-9
8-For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9-Not of works, lest any man should boast.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
