The Flesh

Today’s verses are from Romans, and they speak on the flesh and its power even in us as believers. But we can find comfort in knowing that God understands our struggles over our flesh. God is willing to watch us fail, and then He comes in and cleans us up. Like children learning to walk, they fall but have to learn and we help them. Similarly, Jesus helps us to learn His ways. When we get saved, we want to ask Him how much longer we will have troubles with our flesh, but the reality is we will always have trouble, and won’t be perfect until we reach Heaven.

On this earth we are here to fellowship with our Lord. Satan wants to stop us from reaching our goal. We must keep pressing towards Heaven, where our rewards will be forever. God goes before us, so satan doesn’t get a foothold on us. Never be satisfied with your flesh because it will lead you to do wrong. God wants to bring us to the fullness of our flesh in Him. Stand still and watch the battle won over your flesh in Jesus. Look back and see the areas He has already won for you.

Jesus still loves us when we make errors. He prepares the places in life, and then prepares us for those places. We stumble because we don’t listen to His still small voice warning us, leading us. He makes us willing to go, then He goes before us to drive out the enemy. We often do things we do not want to do. Trust in Him, for He died for us a cruel death on calvary.

I have learned much through the years of errors I have made, and He always picked me up and said, “I love you.” I repented of those sins, and He forgave me. I had to learn to forgive myself which sometimes is hard. He doesn’t remember our sins after they are forgiven, satan just torments us with our past sins to bring us down. Let us not allow him to do so, instead, let us praise God for all His forgiveness and His goodness. Amen!

Romans 7:15-20

15- For that which I do I allow not; but what I hate, that do I.

16- If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law, that it is good.

17- Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

18- For I know that in me [that is, in my flesh,] dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

19- For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20- Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
