Temper

When Jesus was shown anger, He responded with healing and compassion. He sets for us an example on how we should behave. Sometimes our anger is justified, but only if it has God’s purpose in it. We should ask God for a sound mind which will give us control over anger and to know if it is righteous.

Pray for Jesus to guard your words when anger arises. Ask Him to guard your lips. When we follow Jesus, it means surrendering our emotional reactions to Him. Being angry should not drive our responses, but overcome anger with goodness. Let us be slow to anger and quick to love. There is enough hurt in this world, so let your light shine for others to see Jesus in you. AMEN!

Proverbs 16:32

He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit [is better] than he that taketh a city.

Ecclesiastes 7:9

Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

James 1:19-20

19-Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

20-For the wrath of man worth not the righteousness of God.

Galatians 5:22-23

22-But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23-meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Proverbs 25:28

He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.
