We Must Die
When we die to our flesh we are like a seed put in the ground; it dies, but comes up a beautiful flower. When we come up it shall be in God’s image, not our old fleshly desires. We seem to need suffering to kill the old man's flesh. We can be a strong minded person, but if we are not strong minded through Christ, Jesus then has to deal with us harshly. As we suffer, we see God’s powerful hand move in our life pulling us through all sorts of problems.
When my brother was in the hospital with Covid, I talked to him the day of his death. We had such a good time on that day, we talked about our childhood and laughed over how silly we behaved. Everyone in the family talked with him, and said he was dying. I could not understand why they were saying that because we had a great time on the phone that day. He asked me to pray with him and he sounded normal. I love my brother, and I miss him. This is part of life. He is in Heaven, and one day I will see him again. Jesus took me through this hard time, and I tried to help his family the best I could.
Life is not easy, but Jesus takes us through to the end where we will receive a crown of gold-an eternal life spent in Heaven with Him. We can help others go through hard spots in their lives when we have a testimony of God’s work in our own lives. I wrote a book, “He Did It For Me”, found at the MyBook tab above, that talks about the many hard places Jesus took me through. I give Him all the glory for my many victories. I come to tell you all, He is alive!
Romans 6:6
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I do not live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.
Romans 8:13
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
Luke 9:23
And He [Jesus] said to them all, if any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.
1 Peter 2:24
Who His [Jesus’s] own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.
