I Have Been There!

There have been many hard places in my life and if it wasn’t for Jesus I would never have made it through, my husband’s tragic death and divorce from my second husband to name a few. I thank God that I gave my life to Him. He gave me strength to make it to the other side with victory. Where would me and the children be without Him? I was very worn out in those times, but He gave us hope to go on as a family, even without a husband and father. I had no formal education to get a good job to support us. It was hard because I wasn’t sure if what I was doing was right because there was so much I was dealing with, but I had one rule: everyone must come home for dinner. That was our family time to gather together and to talk about our day and laugh with each other no matter what.

At that time there was no divorce in our family, and I felt like such a loser. One day, my son was fooling around with his friends outside. I was scrubbing the kitchen floor. He came in and said one of the male adult neighbors punched him in his stomach. I looked like a mess from washing the floor, but I went out to their house to have a talk with him. He would not even come to the door, instead his wife came out to talk with me. I told her I was going to call the cops, but his wife kept on apologizing for her husband. They knew they were wrong, so I went home and tried to calm down. His wife came to my house to apologize again, explained to me that they were Christians, and that she didn’t understand her husband's behavior. It was very hard for me, and I wished my husband was with us at that time to handle it. I knew my son missed his dad and I missed him, too. But I was thankful we were safe in the arms of God.

Jesus will help us in any situation just call out to Him. Even saying “Help!” is enough, He hears your every cry.

2 Corinthians 12:9

And He said unto me, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness…”

Deuteronomy 31:8

And the Lord, He it is that doth go before thee, He will be with thee, He will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

1 Peter 5:7

Casting all your cares upon Him; for He careth for you.
