Be a Servant of God

Jesus came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life for us. We are to follow His example and be servants just as He was, to help each other as He instructs us. We are not to be as the world, who brag on who they are and what they own. Christians are to be humble, kind, loving, and self-sacrificing. The person who serves selflessly, without complaint, and not seeking recognition is highly regarded in Heaven. Jesus took a towel and basin to wash the disciples' feet. God is more concerned with how we serve people. There are lots of ways to accomplish that, ask Jesus to show you.

There was a time I did hair for the elderly. During that time, I would see their other needs. I would cook soup and bring them some, shop for them, or just visit with them. Some were very lonely. and I would sit and listen to them. God gave me a heart for people, and I enjoy helping them however I can. When I was younger, I visited nursing homes and hospitals and I worked with behavior problem children for a few years.

Look around for a neighbor, a friend, even a family member, and reach your hand out to this lost and dying world. Be that hand of God.

Philippians 2:5-8

5-Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6-Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7-But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8-And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

John 13:4-5 & 15

4-He riseth from supper, and laid aside His garments; and took a towel, and girded Himself.

5-After that He poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet.

15-[Jesus said] “For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.”
