When We Lose Our Dreams

Life doesn't always turn out the way we plan or think it should go, but as Christians we need to remember that God has a perfect plan for the life of a believer. As we walk before Him and seek His plan for us, He will guide us through life. When we are unsure, the bible has the answers as we seek and read His word. That is why He gave us the Bible, so we may find our answers and draw closer to Him.

There have been many times I sought clarity in my life. I prayed for God’s direction because only He knows what is ahead, and His guidance can keep us out of harm's way. As we stay in daily prayer we will see a big change in our lives. For myself, before I get out of bed I seek His face, and I ask Him to be with me and my family daily. I ask to keep His angels around us and protect us all. He is our heavenly Father, and He will take care of His children.

One of my heart's desires in life was to be married, have many children and live in a nice home where my children and grandchildren could all come to visit. When my husband left us, I was crushed-my dream was shattered. Jesus gave a new dream to me; it was to have a place for children who needed help, so I opened my home to welcome them with God’s love. My children and their friends would come over and find peace, joy and love in our Christ-filled home, which in this world is so hard to find. They would come for lunch, dinner, or just stop in for a visit. They would remark how peaceful and happy this home was and filled with love. God used me to reach out to others. I worked a lot in church groups for children and young girls. What a privilege it was, for children are very important to God; they are the apple of His eye. My eyes were taken off of me, and I reached out to the world around me. Let us be still before God and He will renew our hopes, and restore our dreams.

Proverbs 29:18

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Proverbs 13:12

Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Psalm 37:4

Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
