Let Us Not Forget Our Salvation
We were all bound by sin at one time in our lives, but once we give our hearts to God we become free! Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross allowed us to be absolved from our debt and become reconciled with God. While we are not to dwell on our past, as we now have received a new life of victory in Jesus, we should not forget what the gift of salvation cost. He delivered us and we should honor Him in all things we do.
When I first got saved, I looked around at how the world looked so different to me-the grass was greener and there was a renewed joy for living. Let us be thankful for His resurrection power, for where would we be without it? When I look back to my old life, I look back with sadness, thinking “how could I have lived that way?” Now, I look at my life through the lens of Jesus; how that old darkness is gone and replaced with His light. I no longer desire the old things of this world, I only long for my relationship with God and a life that glorifies Him.
We are now servants of righteousness, new creatures in Christ. The old things have passed away and all things have become new in us; Not by works, but according to His mercy we are saved! We thank Him for our new life-forgiven, washed clean, and no longer bound to sin and death, but victorious. Amen!
