Why Hell?
The Bible very clearly speaks of Hell as a real place-a consequence; somewhere that is ever absent from God’s presence. As it was intended, Hell helps us to understand God’s holiness, justice, and love. It was meant as a place of eternal judgment for Satan and his angels, never originally being intended for man. But, because God is love, holy and just, all sin must be judged and the consequences paid. Hell is the consequence of unrepented sin.
God is also gracious, and He provides a way of escape [salvation] from Hell for man. This is made possible for us through the acceptance of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice. Hell is not because God desires to condemn, but because some reject His Son. God does not wish anyone to perish. God’s desire for all is repentance and salvation, not destruction. But, His holiness requires Him to hold us accountable, therefore those who reject Christ remain under judgement from God while those who accept Christ are reconciled with God. God’s heart cries out to us to come unto Him, and keep us from the consequence of Hell and an eternity absent from Him.
Christians call this day Good Friday. It is a day to remember what Christ has done for us all at Calvary. We know Christ lives, and in a few days time we will celebrate Resurrection Sunday! Do not let another day go by where you have not reconciled with our Lord. Hell is not meant for you!
Give your heart to Jesus today and say this prayer from your heart:
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that you did die for my sins and rose again.
I repent of my sin and ask you to forgive me. Come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I trust you alone for my salvation.
Thank you for saving me. Amen!
Matthew 25:41
[Jesus said] Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, “Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.”
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
John 3:16-18
16-[Jesus said] For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17- For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that through Him, [the world] might be saved.
18-He that believeth on Him is not condemned, but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise…not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
