Christmas

As Christians we should celebrate Christmas as a commemoration of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, into this world. But is this how we honor such a day? Are we grateful for Him coming into this world only to sacrifice His life for us so that we may have peace with God our Father? Or do we forget the true meaning and reason for our celebration and joy? Do we instead party, eat, drink, and exchange gifts, never acknowledging the holiness behind our gatherings and good cheer.  This holiday is sacred and should be celebrated with reverence. Let us use it for praising Jesus- the promised Messiah, and the joy He brings to all.

The angels bowed down and sang songs of worship when He entered upon the earth. We should be doing the same! We give gifts out of love, commemorating the greatest gift that has ever been given to man-Jesus Christ.

When I give a gift it is from my heart because I love that person, and want to say thank you for their love they have shown me. Every day, and especially on Christmas, I want to say thank you to God and the perfect gift of love, His Son. I want to glorify Him first and foremost. Even the world sees this as a time of giving and love, but as Christians we know and should be honoring that Jesus is the one true reason for the season! He is called Emmanuel: God with us.

Christmas is a Holy Day, let us keep it Holy, for He is Holy.
