As Time Passes

Let us not take advantage of our relationship with the Lord. Stay as you were when you first received Him into your heart; keep that bond with Him fresh by renewing yourself in Him daily. Otherwise a wall of distance will form between you and Him and it will be harder for Him to work with you and through you. Just as with our family and friends, without continued effort relationships become strained and fall apart.

Sometimes, when there have been many victories through Christ in our lives, we can come to a cross road and we don’t pray as much or communicate with Jesus in prayer as much. We take advantage of His continuous presence and grace. In those times, we need a new touch of God. We know Jesus is near, but something seems different, a quietness. They are the victories of yesterday, but a new dawn is arising. Do not lean on your old victories, instead honor them by staying steadfast in your relationship with the Lord. Do not lean on your old gifts from Him; move forward, grow in Him, for there is always more ahead. Go to the source, our living God; returning and leaning on Him who is eternal, not the gifts He gives which are for but a season.

We must continue to grow because there is much more to learn. The closer and more we lean on him, the deeper we will grow in His knowledge and wisdom. It is up to us on how deep and how close we want to be with Jesus. I know for myself, from when I first had a taste of God that I wanted more, to be of the inner circle. All our hopes should be in God alone, not in the gifts or victories He brings for us. Do not let the world entice you, instead give Jesus your full attention; He will not fail or disappoint. What He has promised will come to pass, so keep vigilant in Him. Amen!

James 4:8

Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

John 15:4-5

4-[Jesus said] Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Me.

5-I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in Him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.

Psalm 73:28

But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all Thy works.

Colossians 2:6-7

6-As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him:

7-Rooted and built up in Him, and established in faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

John 15:9-10

9-[Jesus said] As the Father hath loved Me, so have I loved you: continue ye in My love.

10-If ye keep My commandments, ye shall abide in My love; even as I have kept My Father’s commandments, and abide in His love.

Psalm 63:8

My soul followeth hard after Thee: Thy right hand upholdeth me.
