Don’t Be Afraid
Typing these scriptures out brings me back to the first time Jesus spoke them to me. I was young in my faith and did not understand them at the time, but as I walked through life, they came alive to me-both encouraging and strengthening me to go on, one day at a time.
Don’t be afraid.
I saw Jesus two weeks before my husband died, and He said to me “Fear not, I will hold you by My right hand.” Jesus did carry me and the children through this tragic death [you can read the details in my book available at the My Book tab above if you are interested in knowing more]. As the days went by, I saw clearly how Jesus held me up. With the cops investigation, people gossiping, and being five months pregnant at the time, I grew very weary in life. I thought when I got saved I would have no more troubles-wrong! You have more troubles, with Satan trying to stop you from going forward in your walk, insisting God does not love you. He actually wants to stop us from serving God because he hates God and is jealous.
I was very afraid and didn’t understand what was going on, especially when the police put up crime scene tape on my house. I could not go back to the house for months because fear gripped me so badly. I was at church with my children for a Thanksgiving service when he died. There were many bad days ahead of us then and as we went through them different verses came to me and touched my heart and gave me strength.
I learned to trust Him, and His Word. There were many tears shed by us those days, and at times He had to carry me. So many questions rolled through my mind, mainly, “what is going on?” My world was turned upside down, but Jesus put a strong foundation under me. He is the rock of my salvation and defender. As my relationship with Jesus grew I learned to trust and depend on Him more and more.
As I write these blogs, please know they come from my heart, from knowing and experiencing my Lord. I thank Him for the many victories in my life. I pray that my words bring hope and renewed strength to my brothers and sisters in Christ.
Love, Marie
