A Joyful Heart

Jesus is alive and cares for our every need, no matter how big or small; He cares about everything. I used to think to myself, “don’t bother Him with this little trial.” I started to think differently about this though when I read a book about a missionary who was in Jerusalem and had bed bugs. She prayed for Jesus to help her; He took them away and never again did she have that problem.

There have been many times where I have had a perfect peace in the middle of conflict. He was there for my whole family. When my parents were dying, Jesus was a heartmender. He used me, this broken vessel, to help others make it through. As I sat at their death bed He gave me wisdom and peace to go forward and carry on, making many important decisions for their end of life wishes to be done. It was a sad time, but Jesus gave me the strength, and I have a joy today when I think of my dad. He had a great sense of humor. He had his jokes written on a piece of paper and every holiday he would take out his little paper and tell his jokes. We can all still repeat them to this day because we heard them so many times.

He can mend your broken heart, also!

Psalm 16:11

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in Thy presence is fulness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Romans 15:13

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Nehemiah 8:10

…for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

John 15:11

[Jesus said] “These things have I spoken unto you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”

John 16:22

[Jesus said] “And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.”
