Knowing Jesus is the Son of God
At times, even those closest to Jesus misunderstood Him and His mission. They believed He had come to fight for them because they were being so persecuted. Instead, He came in peace and love; He came to save us. In today’s set of scriptures, Jesus asked His disciples who they thought He was and it was only Peter who responded correctly. The answer given to him by God the Father.
Who do you know Jesus as? I know Him as so many things-my redeemer, savior, healer, provider, comforter, protector, and the only begotten Son of God. At different times in my life He has revealed Himself to me in so many ways. I would have never survived without Him in this hard world. He knows what is ahead, if only we would listen and let Him help us.
Many years ago now, God showed me to move from the only place I had ever lived, NY. I went into my prayer room and prayed for many days to make sure I was hearing from Jesus. I asked Him for confirmation, that if this was truly of Him, then to send me a christian buyer for my home. The man who came was a minister, and he told me that God had told him to come and purchase my house for above the asking price it was worth. After that confirmation, I went-with no job lined up and no medical insurance. I was very sick then as well, so this took great faith for me to do. I knew His word said He would provide and He did. As soon as I got there, He provided it all. I knew I was on His path and following His plan for my life.
To this day He continues to provide, and I love where I live. It is so full of nature and God’s beautiful creatures. We must never forget the great God we serve, our Lord and Savior forever. Amen!
Matthew 16:13-17
13-When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
14-So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15-He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16-Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17-Jeus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in Heaven.”
