His Love Raised Me Up
I want to praise Him for the many times He raised me up in my life through the years. I thought so poorly of myself, and through His love for me, I learned how wrong I was. His love is greater than anything this world has to say, and I learned to trust in His love. I asked Him what was wrong with me, why I felt this way about myself. He answered my prayers, showing me how I had been listening to satans lies about myself. It has taken me a long time, but I have shed those lies away and replaced them with God’s healing words of love for me.
We all go through hard times in life, death of loved ones, sickness, money problems, and our children causing us terrible heartache. We must remember God’s love reaches everyone, and He meets us in our needs and draws us to Himself; He strengthens our weakness and forgives our sins in eternal hope through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice. Nothing can separate those who trust in Him from His love. We can choose to walk away, we have free will, but if we stay, if we trust Him, His love will take us through, never leaving or forsaking us.
Before I was saved, and even for some time after, I was very unhappy with who I was as a person. I compared myself to the world around me and what I thought I should be. Jesus has continued to show me His love for me, how He created me, and made me in His image; I am His. It has taken me many years to get this lesson into my heart, and truly love myself. I remember reading a testimonial book about a lady who felt the same way I felt. Her words made me feel not so alone. Now, I chose to believe what Jesus says about me, not what the world or Satan says. I want to live in God’s image of who He made me to be.
