Have We Done Enough For The Lord?

When I ask if we have done enough, I am not saying we have to earn His love-that He gives us freely, for we are saved by grace through faith alone. I am talking about what we then do out of love for Him and what He has done for us. Do we tell people about our Lord? Do we show Christian love to the world around us? That is what I mean when I ask if we have done enough? We are indebted, bought with a price we can never repay, but we can do right by our Lord, showing our appreciation and love every day by giving, helping, and sharing the good news with the lost world around us. There is always a need for Jesus in this world. We are called to serve, not to be served, and serve Him with all our hearts with humility. Jesus teaches this to us, that our salvation rests on His grace alone, not on our works, for there is nothing we can do to repay such a debt, but that does not mean our works are useless. God desires from us a life of obedience, mercy, and humility. Our service should be wholehearted because we are serving Christ, and should strive to exhibit His character traits in our own lives. What a great example of love Jesus has shown through obedience and sacrifice. Every act of faithful service shown to Christ has eternal rewards, not just for you but for those who are brought to Christ through you shining your light. The Christian life is one of continual surrender to God. We can not repay Jesus for His sacrifice on the cross, but we can represent Him proudly as He calls us to love Him and faithfully serve Him until He comes.

Micah 6:8

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Colossians 3:23-24

23-And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

24-Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Romans 12:1

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Philippians 3:13-14

13-Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14-I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
