Christ: The Bread of Heaven

Jesus gave His life for us. He is called the bread of life which means eternal provision, spiritual fulfilling, and life ever lasting for those who stay within His love. As we seek Him we will be filled with Him through the Holy Spirit. We will walk in the path He has chosen for us, so we may glorify Him in our lives-testifying that He is real and alive today.

As we take the Lord’s Supper, we do it in remembrance of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. He is the bread of life, and whoever goes to Him will never be hungry. When you believe in Jesus, receiving Him as Lord and Savior in your life, you know that He will continually meet our spiritual needs and lead us into eternal life with Him.

John 6:35-38

35-And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger; and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

36-But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe.

37-All that the Father gives Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

38-For I have come down from Heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.”

John 6:48-51 & 57

48-[Jesus said] I am the bread of life.

49-Your fathers ate manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

50-This is the bread which cames down from Heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.

51-I am the living bread which came down from Heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My Flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.

57-[Jesus said] As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me.

Deuteronomy 8:3

…Man doth not live by bread only, but man lives by every word the proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord.

Luke 22:19

And He [Jesus] took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of Me.”
