Let Us Not Murmur
We should not dwell on issues in our lives that weigh us down. These thoughts hinder our progress in Jesus. Instead, we should lift up our hearts, in thanksgiving and praise, to the One who created the universe; doing so will make our load lighter each day. We can fight against doubt and worry, and the Holy Spirit will come and give us renewed faith in Jesus.
It is easy to fall into doubt just by seeing what is around us. I know because these past months my faith has been strongly tested through my sickness, and I started to lose a lot of my joy through it all. My granddaughter encouraged me often; she would explain my sickness in a way I could understand, which would bring God’s peace and comfort to my heart. I was reminded that for years I had victory by completely putting my trust in Him. I knew this was not different; Jesus was always there. It has been months, going on a year, I have been sick and still see no end in sight, but He has told me I will be well again, which encourages me to hold on, my victory has come.
Satan knows our weak areas and he attacks them. Jesus allows this because we then grow stronger through our trails. As he gives us victory, we learn more of our Lord, how He was there all the time, waiting for us to put complete trust in Him.
Just as Mary broke her alabaster box, completely surrendering her all to Him, did she get free from her surrounding life of sin. Not until we are broken can we arise in victory. So, let Jesus shine His light on our weaknesses, allowing us to grow stronger everyday. We are more than conquerors, and defeat Satan in his game. Let us have a humble, contrite, and surrendered heart before our Lord, Jesus Christ; staying triumphant in Jesus, no matter what comes our way.
Job 41:25
When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: By reason of breakings they purify themselves.
Luke 7:37-38
37-And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
38-And stood at His feet behind Him weeping, and began to wash His feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed His feet, and anointed them with ointment.
Psalm 34:18
The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Psalm 51:17
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Isaiah 57:15
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”
James 4:10
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.
